Saffi-Ul-Hassan

Litigation Head (Lahore Office) | Senior Associate

Saffi-Ul-Hassan is an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan and the Litigation Head at the Lahore office of RIAA Barker Gillette. His practice focuses on high-value commercial and tax disputes, complex constitutional litigation, procurement challenges, and regulatory compliance. He regularly advises and represents leading public and private sector clients in high-stakes disputes, including proceedings before Dispute Boards in relation to the Dasu Hydropower Project and the K-IV Pipeline Project.

Prior to joining the firm, Saffi gained extensive experience representing institutions such as WAPDA, NTDC, Pakistan Expo Centres, Lahore Grammar School, PEMRA, PTA, OGRA, and the FBR. His work has ranged from tax and audit references to procurement disputes, service and employment matters, and constitutional challenges to regulatory powers, giving him a strong track record across Pakistan’s corporate, regulatory, and constitutional landscape.

Saffi’s reported judgments reflect the breadth of his practice, spanning constitutional, commercial, tax, procurement, and service law. They include challenges to electoral delimitation on behalf of the Election Commission of Pakistan, litigation on non-statutory service rules involving Pakistan Television Corporation, contractual disputes concerning multinational franchises such as Pizza Hut, and procurement matters for NTDC. He has also appeared in cases interpreting key provisions of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 and in high-profile disputes involving the FBR, OGRA, and the oil & gas sector. Collectively, these decisions underscore his versatility in handling complex issues at the intersection of corporate, regulatory, and constitutional law.

Saffi-Ul-Hassan holds an LL.B. (Hons.) from the University of London, an LL.M. (Legal Practice) with distinction from BPP University London, and was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. He is also accredited as a civil-commercial mediator by the Singapore International Mediation Institute.
