Senior Associate
Azwar Shakeel is a senior associate based in our Lahore office. His main areas of practice include corporate matters, regulatory compliance, labour disputes, legislative drafting, project development, and project finance.
Apart from his role with the firm, Azwar routinely contributes articles on legal and socio-political topics for various newspapers, including Dawn and The News. The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan awarded him the Fakhruddin G Ebrahim Fellowship, as part of which he prepared a report on the rights implications of human smuggling in Pakistan. Currently, Azwar is serving as a consultant with both the International Organization for Migration and the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. He also often appears as an expert commentator on nationally televised talk shows to discuss issues related to transnational organized crime and irregular migration.
Azwar Shakeel holds an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He earned a distinction at the Bar and was awarded the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators Prize for his outstanding academic achievements. The Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn admitted him to the Bar of England and Wales.
