Charlotte Barbaroussis

Solicitor

Charlotte Barbaroussis studied law at the University of Westminster, where she completed her Legal Practice Course. She focused on commercial property, entertainment and media, and family law.

Charlotte joined RIAA Barker Gillette (UK) in March 2022 from James McKenzie Wills Limited, where she worked as a senior private client consultant. After initially joining as a paralegal, Charlotte completed her training contract and qualified as a solicitor in 2024. She now works within our Private Client team. She works closely with the department head, James McMullan, assisting clients with private client matters, such as wills, LPAs, probate and trusts.

Charlotte Barbaroussis is an affiliate member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Declarations of trust

Charlotte advises on and prepares declarations of trust to ensure the recording and protection of any property ownership arrangement and such interests in a legally binding document.

Estate administration

Charlotte advises on the terms of the will or the intestacy rules, completing inheritance tax accounts, applying for the Grant of Probate, collecting and distributing assets and creating estate accounts to complete the administration process.

Lasting powers of attorney

Charlotte advises on and prepares lasting powers of attorney (LPAs) for property & finance and health & welfare, including a range of safeguarding clauses to mitigate potential risks from financial abuse occurring.

Living wills

Charlotte prepares and advises clients on living wills, which are also known as advanced medical directives. These documents express the wish to refuse or consent to treatments such as CPR/life support.

Wills

Charlotte advises on and prepares straightforward wills and wills containing life interest trusts, discretionary trust structures and letters of wishes.
