Footballer Rohan Ince cleared by jury

Steven Barker, supported by Carly Aitchison and led by Brian O’Neill QC successfully defended footballer Rohan Ince on Wednesday, 15 February 2017.

Brighton & Hove Albion footballer Rohan Ince (currently on loan to Swindon Town) was cleared by a jury at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday of GBH against a Windsor nightclub doorman.

The former Chelsea player was accused of ‘bottling’ the doorman with a Jack Daniels bottle following an incident outside the club in the early hours of Christmas Day 2015.

Rohan, who denied the attack from the outset in what was a clear case of mistaken identity, was cleared of all charges unanimously by the jury after a short deliberation following a three-day trial.

Steven was chosen to represent Rohan after successfully representing a colleague at Brighton & Hove Albion a few years earlier.
